Lac-Mégantic rail disaster
The Lac-Mégantic rail disaster occurred in the town of Lac-Mégantic, Quebec, Canada, on July 6, 2013, at approximately 01:15 a.m. EDT, when an unattended 73-car (MMA) freight train carrying Bakken Formation crude oil derailed and blew up, now let us ask, what ultimately led to the disaster of the train, and how would we prevent it in the future
Re: Lac-Mégantic rail disaster
Reaching a top speed of more than 100 km/h, the train derailed as it neared Lac-Mégantic, What I think could've been done to avoid this, was if they properly inspected the train before it continued its travel.
